Join a premier supplier of heavy haul transportation equipment to the World… Aspen CustomTrailers is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company poised for ongoing growth and seeking a results oriented Accounts Receivable / Payroll Clerk to become a member of their finance team.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations. Your days will be kept busy as you prepare work orders, verify and process invoices, and maintain all export documents while ensuring compliance with AMPS regulations. Month end and year end reconciliations will be a regular part of your duties. You will track commissions and advances, post payments and collections, record checks and cash remittances, and handle bank runs as required.

In addition, this role will prepare and process the biweekly payroll, manage employee files, maintain the shop payroll filing system, and run reports for ROE’s. And as a part of our administrative team, you will support the office with ordering of supplies and other ad hoc jobs to ensure the office is run effectively.

Your qualifications will include a minimum of two years experience in accounting and payroll in a computerized, team environment and you have an accounting degree or currently pursuing an accounting and payroll designation. Good communication skills are essential for this role as you will interact with employees and suppliers to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data.

Detail-oriented people who take pride in 100% accuracy and who love being part of a close-knit team will be successful in this environment. You must also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent organizational skills, because there is a lot to do and tight deadlines to work within. Exceptional computer skills are vital!

Sales Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity open in our Leduc plant for an innovative Sales Engineer who is looking for the next step in their career in a growing company. The Sales Engineer is responsible for interfacing with our sales team to review and determine the scope of trailer inquires. Not only will you provide pricing, and quoting of standard and non standard products, you will also be relied on to provide valuable technical assistance to our sales staff.

This challenging role will keep you busy as you estimate material and labour costs while creating sales layouts and sales quotes for potential orders. You will maintain and update the Aspen standard product line pricebook and calculate basic weight and beam calculations to determine trailer weights.

The successful candidate will have a technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years experience in mobile equipment or related industry. Mechanical Engineering may be second nature to you but you are known for your impeccable interpersonal skills. You work well in a sales environment and people are drawn to you for your excellent ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. You are a whiz with AutoCad and SolidWorks and proficient in the Microsoft Office platform. Ideally, you are registered or qualified to register with APPEGA or ASET. No travel is required for this position.

Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity open for an innovative Design Engineer looking for a career working for a company that has been around for over 30 years and is still solid. This is a hands-on role designing our multi-axle transporters and therefore we need motivated engineers looking to learn and grow with us.

The design engineer will manage the entire product development cycle, from concept and design to manufacture. They will provide design and analysis in a multi-project environment designing heavy-haul lowbed trailers and transporters which includes pneumatic and hydraulic systems design. Although the Engineering Manager is the key point of contact with Aspen's purchasing, sales, and manufacturing departments, the design engineers at Aspen are also expected to communicate with these departments, as well as our customers.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated skills using SolidWorks. System Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity open for an innovative system design engineer looking for the next step in their career in a growing company that has been around for over 30 years.

This is a hands-on role designing the hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems of our multi-axle transporters. Not only will you design the systems for these huge transporters, you’ll qualify vendor parts, document the system’s performance to meet regulations, and provide technical support to our customers.

The successful candidate will have a technical diploma in Engineering with 2+ years experience in systems design. Systems design principles are second nature to you and your experience in the systems design of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical will put you at the front of the pack. You work well in a shop environment and excel at developing systems using CAD and Solid modeling software. You bring with you a commitment to excellence and a meticulous nature.
